When you had your last supply teacher you were given an two page handout presenting different views of the Mars One project. You had to read the view of someone who wanted to go to Mars, and read the response of another who thought it was a bad idea. Then, you were asked to write a paragraph on whether you would go to Mars or not, and why/why not.

This was our first class together. We went over some of the usual rules and introductions. I also reminded you that the following three items are due no later than Fri. Oct. 23:

Today I re-reminded you about the upcoming due dates this Friday (see above post). We revisited the Mars perspectives handout, and talked about the Mars One Project in more detail. We also watched a 3 clips: 1. A summary of the project (Bottom) 2. A movie trailer for the documentary/film that will cover the trip (Destination Mars) (Right side) 3. Today we: 1. watched "5 Things You Need to Know About The Mission to Mars" (see right) 2. Brainstormed the Pro's and Con's in deciding to go to Mars or not. |

We worked on taking our brainstorming (above), and putting together the 5 rough paragraphs for our up-coming essay. Unfortunately, I'm unable to locate the file/can't post it. But please see me if you need an extra.
The next two classes we will be booked in the English computer lab to type up our good copy and provide some peer editing.

Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we are in the English computer lab. You will be typing up your good copy, peer editing, and if submitted early getting revision from myself.
The final copy of the Mars Essay is due by the end of the period on Friday! There will be late penalties after this.
