Wed. Nov. 25th
Today you were assigned this on-going assignment. You can download the file below if you have misplaced your copy.
Ultimately your job is to be reading the news. Your task is to find an article of interest (from a credible Canadian news source), and compare how this SAME story is being covered in another Canadian news source.
On your chosen presentation date (see below) you will be responsible for the following:
1. Having the two news articles present in class. This can be done digitally (having URL's and projecting them) or in paper (you must submit the two articles to the teacher the day before your presentation so that a class set can be made).
2. You will summarize both articles (5 W's). Use the form provided. This can be reference notes for your presentation. This is not for marks (as you're marked on Oral Communication and Media), but I would like this submitted at the end of your presentation.
3. Provide two direct quotations from each of your two articles (4 in total). Read these and discuss their significance.
4. Present the class with your 5 discussion questions, and help to facilitate class discussion. Please write your questions on the given handout. This will also be submitted.
